he toddler has now become the “Ruler”.

“Mama, sit down!” He pats the floor next to him or the child sized seat that my butt won’t possibly fit into.

“Dad, outside!” he grabs hubby’s hand and literally drags him down the hallway.

It’s amusing for now.

The best is his bossing the dogs around. “Ab!” “Dais!” aka: Abby & Daisy. Of course, they don’t listen to him. Our dogs are a lot like our toddler. He bosses the dogs and either gets ignored or typically a big lick in the face by a dog tongue. They are trying to shut him up. LOL.

It’s the small amusement these days that make my heart sing. See you next week.

Drat those clouds!

Drat those clouds!

The eclipse last Sunday was pretty cool. I’ve always heard of a blood moon, but had never thought I’d get to see one. My fascination with celestial objects began as a kid and somehow I’ve managed to miss most of the ‘once in a lifetime’ events.

·      Eclipses

·      Meteor showers

·      Rare comets

So, I was teased on Sunday with the cloud cover in my area. The moon was bright and clear, and it was ten minutes to show time. Then the biggest freaking cloud I’ve ever seen moved in and blocked my view! Talk about being bummed. Another one missed!

Fortunately, about thirty minutes later I check the sky and there was a break in the sky. I saw the eclipse and the moon turn orange and red and sections of clouds floated by. The effect was spectacular.

Train Wreck

It was an interesting weekend over the Labor Day holiday. One of high drama, collapsing railroad tracks, and the obsessions of a toddler. Thomas the Train Adventures reality show staring my 22 month old.

I had a dream not too long ago about alien visitation. In the dream, my son’s toy was producing a frequency that attracted alien spacecraft. Basically, a phone home ET type message, except the message was to my house. The real culprit of the dream was Thomas the train, the motorized version. It’s not really a loud toy, but after hearing the scratching of the wheels all weekend long and the clack clack clack when it gets stuck, it’s not surprising to me aliens are visiting us because of that noise.

We’ve had Thomas for a while and one train was enough to inspire some pretty creative dreams which involved Men in Black and a super sized Tonka truck being placed in the backyard by a toddler from another solar system. This weekend Thomas was joined by his good friend Percy. There were lots of races and crashes. Perfect entertainment for a toddler in any galaxy. Well... until they get stuck somewhere. Mom and Dad to the rescue. I wonder what I’ll dream about tonight.
